What happened to the Iraqi economy after the US invasion of Iraq in 2003 under the pretext of establishing a democratic system and other arguments?

What is happened to the economy of Iraq after the 2003 occupation by American Army to set up the democracy?

To judge the results after 19 years of changing the regime in Iraq we need to put the main standards of judgments for any economic performances governances as follows:

  1. Growth of GNP.
  2. The rate of unemployment.
  3. The rate of inflation.

As economists, we must be looking at the structure of production and its diversification” – income distribution- the quality of education and health care- social aid and poverty- public security and human rights- then we must look to the performance of the government in the field of providing electricity and clean drinking water- Sanitation and others… these are our indicators to judging the performance of all governments after 2003 in the name of democracy.

Iraq income coming from just selling petrol from 2003-2020   one thousand and three hundred fifty billion dollars. After 13 years of sanction, this revenue was able to build a very modern country as one of the best in the Middle -East.

Then What is happened what was the results؟

1-As GNP 95% coming from petrol export and all economies share only 5% coming from some governmental fees and taxes.

2- With all this huge amount of income theirs is 40% unemployment than where are going these revenues? – some of them to government budget to pay the salaries for eight million persons. One million and a half of them in the official army and Militias” and to paying two million and five hundred thousand retired                    The average salary is 500 American dollars- the rest of salaries budget is going to the functionaries in all public service’s- the private sector has a very limited role in the economy of IRAK by the Iraqi government whom loyalty is to Iran because there is no national products in all the sectors    IRAN dominate all the Economy of Iraq by exporting all kind of products.

3-The rate of inflation: a country without productions only brut petrol without electricity without clean water the index of price showing a rate of inflation of more than 14% and the IRAKI dinar lost 25% of its purchasing power after the decision of the government to change the exchange rate from 1180 dinar for one dollar to 1485 dinar for one dollar.

The unique story of corruption in Iraq:

The problem in IRAQ was unbelievable more than 500-700 billion dollars has been stolen by the leadership Of the IRAQ by using nonofficial armed forces which are under the name of Islamic movements. but how? 1- By Fake projects2- Devise money auction3-Bribery and intimidation4- Kidnapping and blackmailing innocent people5-Obsession of the state and individual’s properties and more and more. There is no administrative reform, and they shoot anyone if he is pretending against their behaviors in 2019, they killed 1000 young manifests and they injured more than 25000 during the demonstrations it’s the (STATE OF DEATH) no one can say no to them this the new model of democracy in Iraq had brought to us by UK and USA,

8 million Iraqi refugees or left the country- non-health care- non-education – 40% illiterate, worst country to life, second in the corruption and safety
