Arab Organisation for Human Rights in Scandinavia condemns the terrorist attack in Baghdad

The Arab Organisation for Human Rights in Scandinavia expresses its deep sadness and profound condemnation of the two bombings that took place in ”Al-Tayaran” Square in Baghdad on Thursday morning, January 21, 2021, which resulted in the death of nearly 35 and the injury of nearly 100 others.

The organization affirms its condemnation of terrorist crimes and the gross violation of human rights that terrorism constitutes, which requires accountability and the prevention of impunity for the perpetrators.

The organization calls for the need to open an international investigation and hold accountable those who tamper with the security of Iraq and cause the bloodshed of innocent Iraqis, and reveal the identity of those behind these horrific and repeated crimes and bring them to justice. It also calls for stopping the activity of terrorist militias from infiltrating and harming civil peace.

While the organization affirms its solidarity with the Iraqi people in confronting all forms of terrorism, it expresses its deep condolences to the families of the martyrs and to the Iraqi people, and wishes for a speedy recovery for the wounded and the injured.
